I’m surprised they would thrust the extra work on you, being a new teacher and all. It doesn’t seem fair to me. I was a team leader for several years at my old school and it can be a considerable amount of extra work. (And it looks like it is, based on that job description!) I hope there’s a stipend involved at least!
At my current school we all share the responsibility. We are the leader for just 6 weeks at a time! Much more fair, if you ask me!
It’s awesome that your principal thinks that you are up for the challenge! Honestly, you can learn a ton from taking on the extra role and impress her/him at the same time. I do share Nick’s concern. In the first year this is a lot of extra work. We also share these duties at my school.
